MEN IN BALANCE LAUNCHES NATIONAL “GET BACK IN CHURCH” INITIATIVE
Campaign Encourages Men and Families to Reconnect with Faith, Service, and Community
Davidson, North Carolina — Men in Balance today announced the launch of a national initiative called Get Back in Church, an effort designed to encourage men and their families to reconnect with faith communities, increase volunteer engagement, strengthen family relationships, and build stronger communities.
The initiative comes in response to decades of declining church attendance across the United States and growing concerns about loneliness, social isolation, family instability, and reduced community engagement among men.
“Church attendance is about more than filling pews,” said Jerry Hancock, Executive Director of Men in Balance. “It is about helping men find purpose, friendship, support, and opportunities to serve. When men engage, families benefit. When families benefit, congregations and communities benefit as well.”
The initiative will focus on three key objectives:
- Encouraging men and their families to attend church regularly.
- Encouraging volunteer service and leadership within congregations.
- Strengthening family involvement in faith-based service and community engagement.
Research has consistently linked active participation in faith communities with stronger marriages, greater father involvement, increased volunteerism, stronger social support networks, and greater community engagement.
Through surveys, educational materials, church partnerships, public awareness campaigns, and volunteer opportunities, Get Back in Church seeks to create measurable improvements in church participation and family engagement.
Men in Balance is inviting churches, synagogues, faith-based organizations, foundations, corporations, and individual supporters to join the initiative.
The organization plans to establish baseline measurements and track progress through attendance data, volunteer participation, family engagement, and participant surveys.
“Our goal is simple,” Hancock said. “Help men reconnect with faith, help families reconnect with one another, and help communities become stronger in the process.”
